Flute,Piano - Level 4 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.1012010

Composed by Haydon Harvey. Contemporary. Score and part. 14 pages. Haydon Harvey #3572459. Published by Haydon Harvey (A0.1012010).

Verreweide is an Afrikaans word for "far pastures". There are many passages where the flute and piano are playing in unison and will be the biggest challenge in terms of ensemble playing. The piece is still very much tonally based however in certain sections this tonality is stretched into atonal regions. The piece is inspired with traits from Piazzolla and his Tango Nouveau style and whether pronounced or subtle, the habanera rhythm is present throughout the majority of the piece. The Habanera is broken in the mid-section with a much freer sounding section which must have healthy use of rubato; really drawing out phrases.
