This set of neo-classical style modern-tonal variations is a humorous jest upon a short theme by the composer's wife, whose music was part of a hallowe'en costume she made. The variations are a bit satirical of the classical period theme-and-variations tradition. The music ends with a fugue and a short tip of the hat to Beethoven whose Diabelli Variations were on the composer's mind when he wrote his own set of variations. Duration: about 17 minutes. The MP3 Audio Clip is a studio recording of the composer at the piano.
