The favorite Christmas bell tune is combined with original music to create this fantasy. Lots of techniques and quick ringing will make this fun and challenging for ringers. Major and minor tonalities change hands throughout the work. It is a quick 152 measures long!

Although this tune is often associated with Christmas, the original folk story related in the song was associated with the coming New Year, which, in pre-Christian Ukraine, was celebrated with the coming of spring in April. The original Ukrainian title translates to "the generous one" and tells a tale of a swallow flying into a household to proclaim the bountiful year that the family will have.
