Composed by Erik Satie. Arranged by Richard Sigwald. 20th Century,Classical,Ragtime. 23 pages. Rich Sigwald Music #1096902. Published by Rich Sigwald Music (A0.1523152).

Three unique piano works by the essentric French Impressionist Erik Satie, Les Pantins Dansent (1913), Gymnopedie 1 (1888), and Le Picadilly (1904) arranged into a fun three-movement work for Bassoon Quartet. Les Pantins Dansent, or The Puppet's Dance was written to accompany an experimental theater production. Gymnopedie 1 is an important precursor to ambient music named for ancient greek dance. Le Picadilly is a ragtime and written at a time when early American jazz was all the rage in Paris. The main theme is believed to be derived from Hello, Ma Baby! (1899) by Howard and Emerson. This is a great introduction to French Impressionist music!
