What is remarkable in his works is that he does not give priority to 'his instrument'. He has composed pieces for strings, sonatas with piano accompaniment, orchestral works and even a piece for guitar which refers to the history of his home country Finland. In his 'Triple Concerto', the three highly virtuoso solo violins compete with a colourfully orchestrated string orchestra.
