Thus this musical tribute to General Misbah Mayadas of the Indian Army: He passed away peacefully in India on May 16, 2016 just short of his 86th birthday. After a brilliant military career, during which Misbah was awarded 12 medals and had bestowed on him the PVSM for distinguished service by a grateful nation, he retired in Dehra Dun in the foothills of the Himalayas amidst many friends and family members. The opening bar of my piece is based on the letters of his given name.
