By Dawn Featuring Tony Orlando. By Irwin Levine and L. Russell Brown. Arranged by Mike Spiller. 20th Century,Pop. 9 pages. Platypus Music #989159. Published by Platypus Music (A0.1406069).

This arrangement for string orchestra of this 1972 hit would also work very well as a string quartet or quintet. The melody is contained mostly in the 1st violin part. At one point the cello has the melody in octaves with the 1st violin. The 2nd violin and cello lines have syncopated sections and the off beat in the viola part is in answer to the pizzicato bass line which is on the beat. This rhythmic slightly 'jiving' arrangement should be performed at a moderate tempo.
