Wooded Blur was based on the ideas of an impressionist style painting
that if you take a closer look at a piece art you could only see blurriness.
However, if you took a step back you could see the whole context. The main idea
that you hear in the piece is the “closer look” that is so blurred that you don’t
understand the context until you see the big picture. You hear this repeating pattern
(the main idea) becoming home and the root of this atonal piece. The variation around this
main idea becomes the context and helps create the bigger picture. It allows you
as the listener to see the character of the piece. The piece is the forest itself who is
playful, a trickster, and a guardian of his own home. The sections that take you on this strange
journey will give you glimpses of imagery that you can picture that gets you involved.
Building you a perception of this Wooded Blur.
