These little updated Czerny like studies asked the question, 'after Post Modernism what'? The preface gives an optional version of having the various friends come on stage one at a time, and play one portrait each.They pin the portrait to the board behind the piano.This includes substitutes for unavailable friends who can sit in for them, so th work becomes a procession, or it can be simply played at home. Photos are included with the score which can be printed out.
