Trombone Quartet Trombone - Level 4 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.1292210

Composed by Babs Gonzalez and Horace Silver. Arranged by John Milne. 20th Century,Jazz. 17 pages. Odd Shoe Music #882807. Published by Odd Shoe Music (A0.1292210).

Trombone quartet arrangement for an intermediate to advanced quartet.
All parts have a go at the tune and there's a scored solo section.

Some notes in the bass trombone part can be taken down the octave, but I've deliberately written the part so it can be performed with straight trombones.

The Preacher is based on the chords to "Show Me The Way To Go Home", which Horace Silver often played at the end of his gigs. The producer of the recording, Alfred Lion, didn't want to release it because he considered it old fashioned. The band insisted and the tune became a jazz standard.
