looks good
I'm not an expert or professional, just a music enthusiast. I got this work to study orchestration, BIG orchestration. ( I love big orchestral works from the late 1800s into the early 1900s. I ordered other titles too and will review those also.)This is a study score in paper back. The print is small, but not too small, at a comfortable size for me. The binding is loose enough that you might be able to open it at the piano and play some parts, at least in the middle. I look forward to learning from it.

The Planets Full Score
Excellent layout. Print large enough to see, though a massive score: 34-staff opening page score supporting 41 individual parts, + the std 5-part string section, not to mention the eventual appearance of 4 staves to support a 6-7 part women's chorus! This is an unabridged republication of the original publication, and there do appear small spots here and there where content fades for a tiny instant. I have not seen such an instance yet which seems to be significant enough to call into question what the content is. A score of this magnitude from an original publisher I believe would cost well over $100, so at $18.95 SMP has even offered a better price than Dover. Thank you SMP!

The Planets - Full Score
This is a great tool for composers/teachers alike. As a composer in college I love using this score! Besides the great Orchestration and interesting and unusual instruments it has such memorable and great melodies! Everyone knowsMars: the Bringer of War after hearing the first few beats because of how powerful it is. Personally I feel any music lover should have this score on their shelf. Holst is a great orchestrater and his music is great for bands and orchestras alike! Also the book and the print are big enough that it is comfortable to read and one doesn't need a magnifying glass to read it! Excellent score!

Wonderful product/company/service
