For SSAATTBB a cappella. By Alvin Trotman. Composer's Notes: When setting The Lord's Prayer, I decided to use the text to make the music and not the other way around. The use of dissonances and clusters helps to evoke a sense of tension and release which will, in turn, add to the realization of the text. The prayer itself is a plea for God's will to be done in each of us; as a result, a sincere and earnest mood should be the main focus throughout the work. If balanced and blended correctly, the song will shimmer with brilliance reflecting the awe and wonder it was intended to create.
