This concept album pays tribute to the popular music of Joel’s teenage years in the 50’s and 60’s. Side One, Track #3 of that album is “The Longest Time”, which pays homage to doo-wop groups such as The Teenagers. This song has become a time-less classic sung by barbershop quartets around the world.
Duration: 4 minutes
This arrangement for beautyshop quartet matches the original piece in length. It has been transposed up to C Major to better suit a female ensemble. Note that if no bass guitar is present, the Bass 2 (opt.) part can be sung in it’s place.
