The Last Song is a beautiful and sad choral that begins very slowly and calmly. Gradually the instrumentation increases leading to a big climax. After this Grandioso ma con moto the instrumentation gets smaller and the piece comes to an end with the initial theme, but this time even slower than in the opening.

The Last Song is een prachtig origineel koraal dat zeer ingetogen begint en langzaam opbouwt. Dit door middel van een rijker wordende instrumentatie om dan naar een grootse climax te leiden. Na deze grandioso ma con motowordt het geheel opnieuw afgebouwd om uit te sterven met een reexpositie van het hoofdthema, nu alleen langzamer en introverter dan het begin. De opbrengst van de auteursrechten van de componisten gaat integraal naar het onderzoektegen kanker.

The Last Song ist ein prachtiger, originaler Choral, der sehr schlicht beginnt, langsam durch eine reicher werdende Instrumentierung aufgebaut wird und schliesslich zu einem grossartigen Hohepunkt fuhrt. Nach diesem grandioso con moto wird diese Spannung wieder abgebaut und endet mit einer Wiederaufnahme des Hauptthemas, das langsamer und introvertierter als am Anfang ist. Der Erlos aus den Urheberrechten fur dieses Stuck wird vom Komponisten komplett der Krebsforschung gestiftet.

The Last Song est un magnifique choral original. Il commence de maniere intimiste, puis se developpe progressivement a mesure que l'instrumentation s'etoffe, et trouve son epanouissement dans un sublime grandioso con moto. La musique s'apaise, et on retrouve le theme principal, plus lent, presque introverti. [La somme percue par le compositeur au titre des droits d'auteur sera integralement reversee au profit de la Recherche contre le Cancer.]
