The Last Song is a beautiful and sad choral that begins very slowly and calmly. Gradually the instrumentation increases leading to a big climax. The Last Song is een prachtig origineel koraal dat zeer ingetogen begint en langzaam opbouwt. Dit door middel van een rijker wordende instrumentatie om dan naar een grootse climax te leiden. Na deze grandioso ma con motowordt het geheel opnieuw afgebouwd om uit te sterven met een reëxpositie van het hoofdthema, nu alleen langzamer en introverter dan het begin. De opbrengst van de auteursrechten van de componisten gaat integraal naar het onderzoektegen kanker.

The Last Song ist ein prächtiger, originaler Choral, der sehr schlicht beginnt, langsam durch eine reicher werdende Instrumentierung aufgebaut wird und schließlich zu einem großartigen Höhepunkt führt. Nach diesem grandioso con moto“ wird diese Spannung wieder abgebaut und endet mit einer Wiederaufnahme des Hauptthemas, das langsamer und introvertierter als am Anfang ist. Il commence de manière intimiste, puis se développe progressivement mesure que l’instrumentation s’étoffe, et trouve son épanouissement dans un sublime grandioso con moto. La musique s’apaise, et on retrouve le thème principal, plus lent, presque introverti.
