This collection consists of 17th C Lute music by Nicolas Vallet. Little is known of the composer, except that he was French by birth, and lived in exile in Amsterdam as did many French protestants (Huguenots). He taught lute and ran a dancing school.
All of these pieces are presented firstly as a suite for lever harp, and then again for pedal harp, so each title is in the collection twice. Edits are beautiful with some fingerings, lever changes with diamond shape notes, and dynamics. There are a significant amount of both lever changes and pedal changes. Pedal changes are also marked.
