He struggled with depression and was tempted to give up his business, but then remembers what his dear, old, Papa would always say. The story has a happy ending! The music is energetic overall, with a touch of melancholy in appropriate places to match the story line. There's a bit of borrowing a tune from "The Barber of Seville" which is quite catchy! The music runs about 5 1/2 minutes, and begins with an introduction to the story that can be sung by a second person. There are 5 different musical themes. Overall the range is good for baritone through tenor; great for a male voice from B1-G3. Piano accompaniment and solo line are written in the score.
