Concerto in G major for viola, strings, and basso continuo
This very recognizable concerto is one of the earliest viola concertos written and is included in the Suzuki teaching method. It is a lovely wistful, bittersweet melody, and being a viola concerto, features the tenor sax, although all of the parts swap in and out as is usually the case with a Telemann piece. Toward the end, the tenor has a beautiful cadenza to itself. If the student/player isn't comfortable, a number of transcribed cadenzas are available for this piece on IMSLP and elsewhere.
