SKU: A0.881804

Composed by Ephrem Feeley. 20th Century,Celtic,Concert,Contemporary,Standards. Octavo. 10 pages. Cherrybrook Music #38901. Published by Cherrybrook Music (A0.881804).

Taimse im' Chodladh is an example of an aisling poem, where the poet is smitten by a vision of a beautiful woman. In the poem, the woman represents Ireland, who calls the poet to rise and take arms against the foreign invader. The recurring refrain "Táimse im' chodladh ..." means "I am asleep and don't wake me,"sung dreamily each time, is in sharp contrast to the more percussive, snycopated phrases where the words speak of "arrows through my side that stung me". Ideal for more advanced SSA choirs who want to include a highly memorable and moving piece in their concert programming.
