As far as I can tell, this is the first string arrangement for a very popular parody of another Sondheim piece. "tick... tick... BOOM!" is a cornerstone of the musical theater world. Jonathan Larson was a revolutionary and by association so is this piece. It is perfect for any regional or high school performing string orchestra as it encompasses many techniques, a difficult key signature, dynamic shifts, shifting, slurs, and ostenato patterns that require the utmost attention in tone and quality in order to maintain the "Sondehemian" tempo as dictated at the very beginning of the piece.
