It was a set of six pieces scored for classical guitar trio, one for each of the grandkids that I had at that time. A second round of grandkids came in 2013 and 2016, so I decided to compose another set of guitar trios. I used pieces composed by their father (my son Richard) as the harmonic foundation for both pieces, adding new melodies and additional harmonies. Performance time for the set is 11 minutes, but each piece could stand alone on a concert program. Demand level is intermediate. This recording has the composer performing all three parts.
