Composed by Traditional German. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Christmas,Folk. Score and Parts. 14 pages. Derek Hasted #4796597. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.797754).For Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.
Derek Hasted writes "This delightful tune is a traditional Thuringian Folk Melody, and has become a well-loved German Carol with the English translation "Sweeter the bells never sound than at Christmas time.
This piece of music is ideal for a novice mixed-ability guitar ensemble - it would be an ideal instrumental for a School Christmas concert, but is also in a good key for accompanying singers.
Two Guitar 1 parts are provided - you can use either or both, depending on the skill of the players in your ensemble. Guitar 1b is all first (or second) position, whereas Guitar 1a is all in VII position - the part score is thoroughly fingered.
The other parts are all straightforward.
But as well as being a fantastic piece for a school concert, it is also great in an adult concert, since it has immediate audience appeal and needs minimal preparation in experienced hands.
I hope you enjoy performing this!"
