This jaunty little tune begins with a toe-tapping melody, and builds to a big, full orchestral sound as other members of your ensemble join in. Here comes the tuba, adding that distinctive oom-pah polka sound! Close your eyes and you see Oktoberfest in European lands, with happy dancers in their lederhosen! A transition to a minor key provides an unexpected, mysterious interlude, with a hint of Brahms' "Hungarian Chant #5," before wrapping up again with the original cheerful theme. If you take a peek from your podium, you'll see the heads in your audience bobbing back and forth in time with the delightful sounds of "Strings Polka." STRINGS POLKA is an easy to play composition written with the young musician in mind and is arranged with all instruments in First Position. It will take minimum rehearsal time to prepare and will certainly bring a pleasurable smile to all faces in the audience. The Acoustic String Bass plays pizzicato throughout, the rest of the strings play arco. Comes with full score and parts for Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Cello, String Bass (arco).
