Solo Guitar - Level 4 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.927603

By Ben E. King. By Ben E. King, Jerry Leiber, and Mike Stoller. Arranged by T. Douglas Bush. Soul. Individual part. 5 pages. T. Douglas Bush #4108041. Published by T. Douglas Bush (A0.927603).

"Stand By Me" is a classic R&B song from Ben E. King, who co-wrote it with the legendary songwriting team of Leiber and Stoller. This fingerstyle guitar arrangement captures the iconic bass riff and chord "stabs" on the original recording.

Performance Tips:

Play the bass part and chord "stabs" in a "clipped" manner. After playing a note or chord, immediately rest the fingers of your right hand on the strings to mute them. In some places it may be necessary to release the fingers of your left hand to produce this muting effect. Avoid letting the notes in the bass part "ring" (continue to sound). It is a good idea to practice the bass line and chords until you are comfortable, and then introduce the melody. Suggested fingerings are included but feel free to change them according to your preferences.
