Both the music and the lyrics are by Boston-area composer-poet Richard St. Clair. The ten poems are in the "cherita" form of 6 lines arranged in 'stanzas' of 1, 2, and 3 lines. The form was invented by British poet Ai Li, though all the poems in this cycle are by the composer of these songs. The estimated performance time of the whole cycle is 12 minutes. A mezzo-soprano voice will work well, though a coloratura soprano will also work well. *Note: the Audio Clip is not the entire cycle and some of the songs are not entirely present.
