Composed by Franz Gruber, Johannes Brahms. Arranged by Michael Shiragawa. Christian,Christmas,Gospel,Sacred. 8 pages. Michael Shiragawa #3909297. Published by Michael Shiragawa (A0.916057).

This is a beautiful setting of Franz Gruber's traditional Christmas carol. The first verse uses very simple accompaniment to highlight the violin's rich beautiful tones. The second verse allows the violin to soar while not making this simple carol too "flashy." The accompaniment use ideas from Brahms' famous lullaby, "Wiegenlied: Guten Abend, gute Nacht," to set a calm and peaceful mood. The arranger has also included some shiftings suitable for advancing students. This piece is sure to help everyone focus on the message of this carol.
