It was originally intended to be a short composition to accompany some time lapse footage that I captured in the Sendai region in Japan, north of Tokyo. The compositional process expanded the work well beyond the combined videos’ duration. Despite some of my somber experiences observing the aftermath of the 2011 tsunami, the region’s resilience surpasses the mourning. This work reflects the upbeat optimism so prevalent in the area.
