This piece was originally called "Scot Moving" to suggest the "con moto" feel of the work and its arpeggios, but it could equally describe the essentially Romantic nature of this Scottish folk tune. The final altered restatement of the opening theme should sound poignant as though some moment from the past can never be recaptured.
