Die düstere Einleitung charakterisiert dabei einen alten Barden, der in der Betrachtung eines verfallenen Schlosses an die verflossenen und wunderbaren Zeiten zurückdenkt. Dieser Ausgabe liegt die originale Orchesterpartitur als Basis zugrunde.
