Scenes from Childhood contains ADULT music, meant to evoke a simple domestic vision of life as a juvenile in a gentry household in the mid-19th century. While many young people are able to play this music, it is NOT meant as children;s literature, as are the Album for the Young, and the Tschaikowsky album of the same name. These are concert works, played by many fully virtuostic performers over the last 150 years. So, having said THAT, we have indeed edited these so as to make them MORE accessible to the young person who is a student of the piano today. The notespage, which is visible in the music sample, tells the technical story. Most of the pieces are a single page. Single-sided printing is recommended.
