Both mournful melodies intertwine beautifully and so passionately communicate Wesley's words. This arrangment uses the style of the great Romantic composers, like Liszt and Chopin, because their music employs the artistic freedom and unrestrained emotion this lyric requires. Extreme dynamics & tempi, sixteenth note scales, and octave runs all contribute to the virtuosic and "rhapsody-like" quality of this piece. What an emotional release to play!
