The exotic title of this work refers to its recognisable oriental character. The thematic material is consequently based on melodic and rhythmic characteristics of eastern origin. The three-part saxophone instrumentation is stylishly accompanied by the rest of the band, thus the composer reflects the intended eastern atmosphere in Saxoriëntale in an effective way. Add a touch of the orient to any concert with this innovative new work.

Der exotisch klingende Titel dieses Werks verweist auf seinen leicht erkennbaren orientalischen Charakter. Das thematische Material basiert durchgehend auf melodischen und rhythmischen Merkmalen östlichen Ursprungs. Die dreistimmige Saxophonbesetzung wird vom Rest des Blasorchesters stilvoll begleitet; so kommt die östliche Atmosphäre in Saxoriëntale auf wirkungsvolle Art und Weise zur Geltung.

Comme le suggère le titre, la musique nous invite porter un regard sur l’Est lointain, l’Orient. Le matériel thématique s’inspire d’éléments mélodiques et rythmiques caractéristiques de la musique orientale. Les trois parties pour saxophones se développent sur un accompagnement orchestral stylistiquement harmonieux. Le compositeur réussit exprimer efficacement une version de l’orientalité.
