William Hawley's Sappho Songs for Mezzo-Soprano and Piano were composed for the Mezzo Kimball Wheeler, and premiered by her with Paul Suits, Piano, at St. Peter's Church, New York City, on March 12, 1986. This is the score, in ms, which was used in the World Premiere performance. The audio clip is the full recording of the World Premiere performance. This score also constitutes the Vocal Score for Sappho Songs for Mezzo-Soprano and Orchestra.

The Full Orchestral Score and recording of this work are also available at SMP Press. The Orchestral score also remains in the ms which was used in the World Premiere given by Kimball Wheeler, with Jorge Mester conducting the Aspen Chamber Symphony at the Aspen Music Festival in 1987.
