The musical language is tonal but chromatic and has proved a popular item at recitals where it’s been played. The piano shares some of the melodic material with the saxophone and the music evokes peace and tranquility; there’s a brief yet passionate passage near the middle of the piece before the music returns to the quite place where it began. The range generally stays below top D though top E appears once. Piano cues appear in the sax part where appropriate. This work would make an excellent addition to a saxophone recital. The score (piano and saxophone) and the solo saxophone part are presented in a single 7-page PDF file. (Duration: 03:07).
