Sorrow, jubilation, humor, sarcasm, and joy are some of its many moods, with good humor and bubbling energy predominating. The work was written to honor the memory of Nelson Hauenstein, noted former Professor of Flute at the University of Michigan, and one of the composer’s teachers.
