According to world-renowned composer and arranger Cedric Dent, his version of “Mary Had a Little Lamb” was originally conceived as a piece for a vocal quartet where vocal jazz meets the traditional choral style (think of the Manhattan Transfer singing an anthem in the traditional choral style).
