Romance sans paroles (or "songs without words") was written by Gabriel Fauré while still a student at the École Niedermeyer, in about 1863. They were not published until 1880, but they then became some of his most popular works.

This is an arrangement of the third piece in this collection. It contain several features for the horn, and everyone gets the melody at some point in the arrangement. This work may be suitable for wind quintets looking for a gentle ballad, a work with a Valentine's Day theme, or wedding music.
