This piece was composed as a birthday present for the Austrian conductor Walter Rescheneder to acknowledge the strong support he has given to the composer, Thomas Doss. Doss drew the inspiration for this fanfare from a mountain hike in the Salzkammergut. A powerful fanfare reveals enthusiasm and triumph. It is an exulting feeling and gives boundless freedom to look down into the depths from high up giving a view of the stunning landscape. The main melodic theme represents the feeling of vastness one experiences by taking just one quick glance into the distance. A musical treat!

Dieses Stück ist das Geburtstagsgeschenk des Komponisten an den oberösterreichischen Dirigenten Walter Rescheneder, der ihn sehr gefördert hat. Eine Bergwanderung im Salzkammergut inspirierte Doss zu dieser kraftvollen Fanfare voller Enthusiasmus und Triumph. Das melodische Hauptthema vermittelt dem Zuhörer das erhebende Gefühl der Größe und der grenzenlose Freiheit, das sich einstellt, wenn man von ganz oben in die Tiefe schaut oder den Blick in die endlose Weite schweifen lässt.

Pour écrire cette pièce en forme de fanfare, Thomas Doss s’est inspiré d’une promenade en montagne dans la région du Salzkammergut. Une fanfare puissante révèle l’enthousiasme et le triomphe. Dominer du regard l’ensemble du paysage procure un sentiment d’exaltation et de liberté infinie. Le thème mélodique principal traduit cette impression de grandeur et d’immensité qu’on éprouve en regardant au loin. Montana Fanfare est une pièce courte qui permet de débuter un concert sur une note festive.

Doss ha tratto ispirazione per questa fanfara da una gita in montagna nel Salzkammergut. Una potente fanfara comunica entusiasmo e gioia. L’inebriante sensazione che si prova guardando un panorama mozzafiato dall’alto delle cime. Il tema melodico principale esprime la sensazione di vastit che si ha dando un rapido sguardo all’orizzonte. Una sorpresa musicale.
