This piano prelude exclusively explores the whole tone scale on C. A bell-like 2-chord ostinato accompanies the haunting main theme. These ideas are subjected to simple motivic and textural development. They appear inverted in the second half of the piece, followed by a reflective, descending coda. The piece is genuinely accessible and is appropriate for most standards of pianist, including students and more advanced players. Other Preludes by the same composer are also available via SMP.
