Composed by Michael Bomier. Contemporary,Standards. Score. 2 pages. Michael Butkus-Bomier #2007107. Published by Michael Butkus-Bomier (A0.862435).

A prelude that offers two distinct and equally valid approaches in performance. The natural accents that occur when the highest note of each repetition of a pattern is played can be allowed to stand, OR the natural accents on the strong beats in 12/8 time, which give an entirely different but equally musical effect, can be employed, the latter concept taking more of a conscious effort. The audio clip shows the first approach. Symmetry, contrary motion and mirrored fingerings used throughout. The harmonic progression is not unusual, but the treatment is highly thematic, if not full-on minimalism. Playing time is just under two mins. Highly structured, but FUN to play!
