Composed by Ludwig Van Beethoven. Edited by Bertha Antonia Wallner. Sheet Music. Paperbound. Henle Music Folios. Pages: 24. Classical. Softcover. 24 pages. G. Henle #HN364. Published by G. Henle (HL.51480364).
ISBN 9790201803647. UPC: 884088175580. 9.25x12.25x0.071 inches.
Beethoven once reported that he had written down his three last piano sonata (op. 109, 110, 111) in 1820 to 1822 in one go, and they certainly form a closely related group. Beethoven dedicated his very last sonata, no. 32 in C minor op. 111, to his patron Archduke Rudolf of Austria, who shortly beforehand had also been the dedicatee of Beethoven's famous “Missa Solemnis.” Experts consider Beethoven's last sonata to be the great, concluding climax of his piano sonata output. Its unusual two-movement form unites grandeur with simplicity. This carefully edited Henle Urtext edition offers a solid basis from which to delve into one of Beethoven's most difficult piano sonatas.

Lovely Sonata
I have been a fan on Henle since my early studies and one can't just go wrong with their editions (may except for the amazing Chopin National Edition). I have ordered all Beethoven's late piano sonatas and he printing is clear, easy to read and the commentaries about the opus and tips about the pieces do help a lot. This is a lovely Sonata, the second movement is superb. I strongly advise anyone interested in late Beethoven to try it.However, thumbs down to Sheet Music Plus customer service: that box for requests when placing an order is simply useless, they don't even bother to read it. I have asked many times for the books to be declared as books, which is what they really are. Nonetheless, SMP insists on declaring it as educational music - whatever it means - generating taxes for foreigners costumers. So be aware that you cannot count of their customer service.
