Some of the text is in Italian and some of the text is in English, but each one describes a different sight, emotion, or piece of artwork. The vocal range is challenging at times depending on the voice attempting it and the meter and scope of the accompaniment can be demanding. The work was originally intended for a Mezzo-Soprano or Baritone possessing a good upper register, but could also be performed by a Soprano or a Tenor with a good low range.
