Published by Azim Lewis Mayadas (A0.987865).This 7-page composition was written by me in 1994 on the occasion of the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, known as the "Father of the Nation" in the Republic of India. He was assassinated at a prayer meeting held on the lawn of his house in New Delhi on January 30, 1948 at the age of 79. The poem is by my late mother, Zenobia, and the charcoal sketch on the cover of Bapu (the affectionate nickname based on the Hindi and Urdu "baap" meaning "father" that the masses bestowed on Gandhiji) is by a 13-year old artist, Atul Tandon.
