Streichquartett von Barbara Heller (Schott ED 20775), gibt es jetzt auch in der Version für Streichorchester. "Patchwork" macht Freude mit seinem heiteren, luftigen und leichten Charakter. Spielerisch fließende Figuren, häufig im pizzicato, wechseln sich mit "stehenden Klangflächen" ab. Als Tritonus-Studie von Heller konzipiert, besteht das Tonmaterial durchgehend aus Ganztonverhältnissen. Die ungewohnte Klangfarbe des Tritonus erfordert daher eine präzise Intonation. Der Interpretation wird beim Tempo freier Raum gelassen: "Patchwork" kann im mäßigen Tempo statisch gespielt werden, aber auch rasch und witzig "vorbeihuschen".
"Patchwork", le 3e quatuor à cordes de Barbara Heller (Schott ED 20775), existe maintenant aussi dans une version pour orchestre à cordes. De caractère enjoué, badin et léger, "Patchwork" est une pièce jubilatoire. Quant au tempo, il est laissé libre à l’interprétation.
