Composed by Felix Bartholdy Mendelssohn. Arranged by Diana L. Appler. Contemporary. 41 pages. Diana L. Appler #3074379. Published by Diana L. Appler (A0.891048).

Opus 24 was written when Mendelssohn was a young lad of 15! As it is one of the few original works for band there is a wealth scholarly study available.  Study alone does not make a piece survive the test of time.  This piece survives because it is a delight to perform and an enjoyable listening experience.  This quintet arrangement is chamber music in a classic style.   The slow opening gives way to a joyful romp in which one can feel the confidence and pride a young musician (of any age) would feel after accomplishing fast sixteenth note articulations and rapid arpeggios.  Add a bit of classical syncopation and this piece pleases performers and audiences alike.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
