"Open Mic Funk III" is the third funk I pre-wrote on Tuesday, 12 March 2024 at the open mic night at F.E. Pop's in Florence, South Carolina. It's a playful marimba trio that is more modern classical in nature than it is, strictly speaking, "funk." Still, it's one of my favorite tracks, and the sixteenth-note syncopation and layered marimbas make for a truly unique piece.
