Published by Will Corbin (A0.1784950).This classic Christmas carol debuted in France in 1847 as "Cantique de Noel" (essentially, Christmas song). The English-language version was adapted by an American in 1855.
It has since been translated into everything and covered by any artist who ever produced a Christmas album, from Andrea Bocelli to Weezer. (Really.) In a 2010 survey ranked "O Holy Night" as the most popular Christmas song, ahead of "White Christmas" and "The Christmas Song." Most of them are the usual triplet arpeggios in 6/8 behind an overdramatic singer.
This arrangement is based on a very nice treatment from a women's a capella singing group at Brigham Young University called Noteworthy. (Please check out their lovely performance on YouTube.)
Very few triplets, 4/4 time, solos for trumpets and trombone.
