It can be neither seen nor heard, but it's ever-present and can make us ill or even kill us: this is the reality of atomic radiation. The most devastating nuclear catastrophes have doubtless been those in Chernobyl (April 26 1986) and Fukushima (March 2011). This work was commissioned by the Fluh Music Society of Bregenz in Austria. The client wished - in the form of a musical message - to express that putting faith in the safety of nuclear energy is mankind's most fatal error.
