Here is a piece that uses traditional nocturne structures but employs modern harmony, to create a classic Romantic mood, with a contemporary sound and color. When one looks into a mirror, all alone, one sees the shifting colors of the light, of the world outside, and one's own inner light. A psychological kaleidescope... Altered seventh chords are used in the left-hand accompaniment throughout. The melody is less florid than a Chopin or Field piece. The music begins quietly, reaches a peak, and fades to an even softer ending. Approx duration just under 4 mins. Pedal for best clarity or best blend, your choice!
