"New Rules", from the artist Dua Lipa, is arranged here for a string quartet consisting of violins I and II, viola, and cello, and may be performed by 4 players, 8 players, or more! This arrangement is meant to sound authentic to the original recording, yet take advantage of the range and lush colors of a string ensemble. The challenge here is in the syncopated pop rhythms, as well as quick changes between pizzicato and arco passages. This makes the arrangement well suited for an advanced high school group or even a college chamber ensemble looking for a fun piece to add to a program or perform in a casual setting.
